Los archivos fueron generados y guardados por Jorge López durante algunas décadas en su domicilio. Algunos de ellos fueron grabados durante el desarrollo de sus actividades y funciones, otros responden a producciones en las que él participó como realizador, y un segmento le fué cedido por colegas y personas allegadas. Los mismos siempre estuvieron en su poder y no fueron movilizados o transferidos anteriormente. Los materiales fueron acondicionados y ordenados en nuevos contenedores. Llegaron a la institución guardados en cajas de cartón, con bastante suciedad y óxido. Los rollos de 16 mm fueron limpiados con alcohol isopropílico y se le cambiaron los empalmes. En el caso del rollo que contiene el documental sobre Ferinoa 1981 se cortaron varios fotogramas que estaban muy dañados por el pagamento de la cinta adhesiva.

El contenido de los materiales es diverso y responde a diferentes etapas de ejercicio laboral o de coleccionismo del productor. Los registros incluyen videograbaciones de: eventos; visitas de personalidades; notas; conciertos, etc., la mayoría de ellos fueron televisados en su momento. Los DVD´s contienen los siguientes contenidos y programas: Despabilados (Producción para terceros, Canal 11. Despabilados era un magazín a primera hora de la mañana, con noticias, y notas de distinto tipo, como una revista); Control ciudadano (Producción propia, Salta Cable Visión); En otras palabras (Producción propia, Canal 11. En otras palabras un programa sobre política con el formato de entrevistas); Me juego por mi barrio (Producción de la Municipalidad de Salta, Canal 11); Agua puna; Nota a Del Pla; Discurso de CFK; Tedeum; Asunción de CFK y J. M. Urtubey. 33 programas de “Despabilados”; 53 programas de “En otras palabras”; Sobre el Bicentenario; 6000 millones de otros; Sobre la Soja. Concierto de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Salta; documental sobre la papa andina; Guía del cine; sobre el día de los museos. Los S-VHS registran temas varios. Por un lado se pueden encontrar imágenes de prensa de gobierno del Municipio capital registradas durante la gestión del intendente Enrique Tanoni. Por el otro copias de crudos y ediciones del noticiero "Cable Libre" que se emitía por Canal 2 SCA (Santa Clara de Asís) a mediados de la década del noventa. 62 VHS con imágenes sobre la gestión Tanoni. U – matic y VHS con material periodístico diverso. Uno de los rollos de 16 mm registra un documental sobre el 2° Abril cultural salteño, realizado en 1978 por Poy Meléndez. El segundo material corresponde a un documental sobre Ferinoa 1981, realizado por Jorge Oscar López, y el tercero se trata de un documental dirigido por el ornitólogo Francisco Contino denominado “Aves altoandinas”, que fue filmado en la puna salteña durante la década de 1970.
