Where parallel systems of dating are used, equivalences may be recorded according to relevant conventions or rules. Raquel Margarita González de Peñalva fue docente y gestora cultural. Nació en la ciudad de Buenos Aires en 1930 y se radicó en Salta una vez casada con el periodista y escritor salteño Ramiro Peñalva en 1966. Se recibió de Maestra Normal y ejerció en Buenos Aires diversos cargos docentes y directivos. En Salta fue fundadora del Instituto de Cultura Inglesa de Salta (ICIS) en el año 1971 y docente del Colegio Belgrano hasta 1986. Participó en la fundación de Pro-Cultura Salta y el Mozarteum Argentino Filial Salta, de la cual fue presidenta entre 1983 y 1993. Se desempeñó en diversas funciones. Fue Subsecretaria de Turismo, Cultura y Deportes de la Municipalidad de Salta, miembro del Consejo Directivo de la Fundación del Banco del Noroeste (1990-1996.), presidenta de la Asociación de Amigos del Museo Casa de Hernández, secretaria del Consejo de Administración de la Fundación Salta, miembro de la Comisión de Cultura y jurado del Premio Phersu a la actividad teatral de 1999. Participó en actividades de asociaciones civiles como Guías Argentinas, OPJ y Conciencia. En el año 2008 fue declarada ciudadana destacada de la ciudad en reconocimiento a su trayectoria y trascendental labor cultural a favor de la comunidad salteña. Murió en Salta el 15 de junio de 2011. Su marido Ramiro Peñalva, nación en la ciudad de Salta el 3 de junio de 1929. Periodista de profesión fue corresponsal del diario La Prensa de Buenos Aires y trabajó en el diario El Tribuno de Salta desde el año 1962, por más de 30 años donde se desempeñó como secretario de redacción a cargo de la sección cultural. Fue, además, el primer jefe de prensa de CANAL 11 de Salta. Ocupó algunos cargos públicos: fue secretario del bloque de diputados de la Unión Provincial, director y secretario de Prensa de la Gobernación de Salta (1961-1971) y director general de Cultura de la Provincia (1977-1983). Escribió poemas y ensayos. Fue miembro directivo de la Sociedad Argentina de Escritores de Salta y miembro fundador del Morzarteum Argentino Filial Salta y Pro-Cultura Salta. Murió en Salta el 2 de diciembre de 1998.
